On November 30, 2025, Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou held an expanded meeting of the Democratic Management Committee to study the Initiative on Frugality, Good Faith, and Proper Conduct for nationwide religious institutions.

The meeting stressed that Lingyin Temple, a thousand-year-old ancient temple and a nationally designated key temple, must lead by example in promoting the Sinicization of Buddhism and in strengthening its own development. The entire temple community should earnestly implement the spirit of the Initiative, using this study as an opportunity to recognize the dangers of extravagance, and to firmly embrace the values of frugality, pure practice and self-discipline. It should resolutely resist commercialization and continuously foster intrinsic motivation for self-education, self-management, self-restraint, and self-purification. Members of the Buddhist community should love the country and the Buddhist faith, uphold good faith and proper conduct, rectify the monastic atmosphere, purify the Sangha, and contribute to the modernization of Buddhism and the healthy transmission of Buddhism in China.
