On March 10, 2026, Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou hosted the 2026 Spring Triple Platform Full Ordination Ceremony, with the aim of promoting national prosperity and the propagation of Buddhism.
On March 9, aspirants seeking ordination arrived at Lingyin Temple. Under the guidance of the ordination instructors, they completed registration, underwent luggage inspection, and were assessed on the Five Daily Recitations, along with health checks. Then they received their new ordination certificates, deposited communication devices and personal valuables with the monastery, and collected necessary items for the precept-retreat period—monastic robes, alms bowls, and sitting mats—before joyfully taking up residence.
On the morning of March 10, all aspirants gathered for written and oral examinations prior to formal admission. Having passed these assessments, the precept aspirants officially began their journey of receiving and practicing the precepts.
The full ordination ceremony has been officially approved by the Buddhist Association of China. It is hosted by the Zhejiang Buddhist Association, co-organized by the Hangzhou Buddhist Association, and jointly undertaken by Lingyin Temple and Fajing Temple in Hangzhou. The assembly will be held from March 10 to April 10, 2026.
To ensure the solemnity and order of the precept assembly, the resident monastic community of Lingyin Temple began comprehensive planning several months in advance. Every detail—from reception and guidance to dormitory and dining arrangements, material procurement and hall decoration—was carefully arranged, laying a solid foundation for the smooth conduct of the ordination ceremony and for warmly welcoming precept aspirants traveling from afar.
Having passed the written and oral examinations, all precept aspirants will formally embark on a one‑month journey of receiving and practicing the precepts.
