On May 13, to fully uphold the Buddhist tenet of compassion and benevolence, further raise public safety awareness and service standards at religious venues across Hangzhou, and improve their capacity for self-help, mutual aid and joint response amid emergencies, the joint emergency first aid training session was successfully held at Hangzhou International Buddhist Culture Exchange Center. Co-hosted by Hangzhou Buddhist Association and the Red Cross Society of China Hangzhou Branch, the event drew over 140 participants including monks, staff members and volunteer representatives from local Buddhist venues.

The training was delivered by professional instructors from the Disaster Preparedness and Relief Center of the Red Cross Society of China Hangzhou Branch. Well-structured and practice-oriented, the courses covered core first-aid know-how including CPR and AED operation, trauma rescue skills, as well as handling common emergencies in temples. All practical exercises were tailored to daily monastery operations and large-scale religious activities, featuring strong pertinence and practical value. Combining online lectures with offline practical assessments, the training certified more than 110 participants with Primary First Aid Certificates. All attendees remarked that the systematic training and hands-on drills enabled them to grasp practical emergency rescue skills and boosted their confidence and competence in tackling unexpected incidents.
