From October 12 to 15, the 2026 Chinese Buddhist Sutra Lecture Exchange was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. Hosted by the Buddhist Association of China, co-organized by Zhejiang Buddhist Association, and undertaken by Hangzhou Buddhist Association and the Chinese Buddhist Sutra Exchange Center, the conference was themed “Advancing Sinicization—Lighting the Lamps of the Human World”. Twenty-eight Buddhist masters from 25 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government across China, as well as from the China Buddhist Academy, took part in the sutra lectures and exchanges. Venerable Master Yanjue, President of the Buddhist Association of China, attended the closing ceremony and delivered a speech.
The conference organized five special topics for the lectures and exchanges: the Humanistic Buddhist outlooks on faith, on karma, on practice and study, on sentient beings, and on frugality.

Over the four days of exchange, the lecturing masters stayed closely with the theme. Addressing questions of concern to contemporary believers, they expounded the essential meaning of the scriptures, conveyed the spirit of Buddhist compassion and wisdom, and fully demonstrated the fine spiritual outlook of young Buddhists in the new era. Following collective evaluation by the judging panel and on-site scoring by the audience, fifteen Buddhist masters received the Golden Lotus Award.
