On March 15, 2016, Abbot of Lingyin Temple Ven. Guangquan gave a lecture entitled “Hello, Bodhisattva” in the hospital’s lecture hall at the invitation of Zhejiang Provincial People’s Hospital. A large audience of nearly one thousand listened to the lecture.
The lecture was hosted by the Vice-president of the hospital Mr. Zhang Dahong. Ven. Guangquan started from the relationship between medical science and religions, lectured on the connection between the Buddhist benevolent culture and the noble cause of the medical staff--by comparing the nature of the medical staff’s healing the wounded and rescuing the dying to Bodhisattvahood. He also encouraged the medical staff to be mindful for the patients and dissolve their sufferings in the spirit of benevolence, gratefulness and tolerance.
At the end of the lecture, Ven. Guangquan encouraged the audience that “Everyone can be a Bodhisattva. To send sincere greetings to the medical staff is to say hello and pay respect to Bodhisattva”.
