Seminar on Historic Photo Collection of Hangzhou Buddhism Held in Hangzhou

On May 7, 2016, Lingyin Temple and Zhejiang University co-organized a seminar on the collection of historic photos that preserve and record the history of Buddhism in Hangzhou at Zhejiang Hotel. Twenty scholars from China, the United States and Germany gathered by the Westlake, shared historic photos of Hangzhou and looked backed on the history of Buddhism in Hangzhou.

The opening ceremony of the seminar was hosted by Professor Shen Hong from School of International Studies, Zhejiang University. Master Kuoren from Lingyin Temple gave a speech at the opening ceremony and expressed his gratitude for all both at home and abroad for their recognition and preservation of the history of Lingyin Temple as part of Buddhism in Hangzhou. He also said that Lingyin temple would shoulder the responsibilities of preserving the traditional culture and spreading the Buddhist culture.
