Painting, Calligraphy and Photography Exhibition Welcomes G20 Summit in Hangzhou

On July 20, 2016, opening ceremony for the painting, calligraphy and photography exhibition was co-hosted by Yunlin Charitable Foundation, Yunlin Academy of Lingyin Temple, Caihe Subdistrict, Liuxia Subdistrict, Qingbo Subdistrict and Sandun Town at Zhizhi Hall of Lingyin Temple to welcome this year’s G20 Summit in Hangzhou.

Guests in attendance included Abbot of Lingyin Temple Ven. Guangquan, Deputy Secretary General of Zhejiang Artists’ Association Li Yunlei, Professor Hu Dingpeng from Zhejiang Gongshang University, Lecturer Xue Ninggang from Lingyin Temple, community leaders and authors of the painting, calligraphy and photography works. Master Huicheng from Lingyin Temple presided over the exhibition.

Ven. Guangquan addressed the opening ceremony. He said that the series of charitable activities to welcome this year’s G20 Summit has not only constructed a platform for the communication and sharing of the traditional culture, but also provided an opportunity to encourage citizens to endorse loving and caring hearts toward others. He hoped that a cooperation and sharing model for cultural resources would be explored in the future so that more artistic talents can be inspired and encouraged and more community cultural activities can be promoted. In this way, citizens will have more access to the traditional culture beneficial for the inheritance and development of the traditional arts.

Over 120 works were put on display, including about 80 paintings and calligraphy works and 40 in photography. All proceeds are made contributions to charity and the money collected would be donated to the sanitation workers who participated in the charitable activities to welcome the G20 Summit.
