On July 31, 2016, Abbot of Lingyin Temple Ven. Guangquan and other Buddhist masters gathered at Mahavira Hall for the Dharma assembly on the 10th anniversary of Ven. Muyu’s stillness.
In the afternoon, Master Kuoren, the Monastery Supervisor of Lingyin Temple, presided over a symposium on Ven. Muyu, memorializing his achievements. Guests in attendance included Abbot of Lingyin Temple Ven. Guangquan, former Secretary of Party Committee of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee of Zhejiang Province Zhao Yixin, former Deputy Secretary-General of Hangzhou Municipal Government Yang Jufang, Executive Deputy Dean of Hangzhou Buddhist Academy Master Gangxiao, and members of Zhejiang Poetry and Antithetical Couplet Society.
Ven. Guangquan reviewed the life of Ven. Muyu at the symposium and commented that Ven. Muyu spared no efforts in the development and promotion of Buddhism. Lingyin Temple used to be one of the Buddhist practice and promotion sites of Ven. Muyu, whose aspiration was to play an active role in the promotion of Buddhism for the benefit of all sentient beings. Lingyin Temple has always been adhering to his aspiration and tries to do the best in the development of modern Buddhism for the benefit of the country and the general public.
