On December 14, 2016, the 2016 Shangde Scholarship awards ceremony was held by Yunlin Charitable Foundation at Hangzhou Dianzi University. Attendees included the Religious Department Director of Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Hu Shengjun, Abbot of Lingyin Temple Ven. Guangquan and executives of Hangzhou Dianzi University, Zhejiang University of Media and Communications, Zhejiang Sci-tech University and Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electronic Power along with the 58 students who were awarded.
After the principal of the Shangde Scholarship program Zhu Suying read the list of the scholarship winners, the guests at the ceremony presented the awards to the student winners. Ven. Guangquan, Director Hu Shengjun and Professor Zhu Bin from Hangzhou Dianzi University all addressed the awards ceremony.
Yunlin Charitable Foundation aims to fund cultural and educational projects, to carry forward the traditional culture, to advocate ethics, altruism, and to promote social harmony. Since its establishment, Yunlin Charitable Foundation has set up special scholarships at renowned universities in the country to encourage teachers and students to make contributions to the promotion and innovation of the traditional culture.
Earlier in June 2016, Yunlin Charitable Foundation signed contracts with Hangzhou Dianzi University, Zhejiang Sci-tech University, Zhejiang University of Media and Communications, Zhejiang University of Water Resources, and Electronic Power in the hope of advocating community virtues and social morality in setting a good model for the general public.
