On March 7, 2017, the Buddhist disciples of Lingyin Temple returned for temple life experience at Tianbao Temple in Dongyang City of Zhejiang Province. The activity lasted for five days, during which all disciples tried to experience the life ina Buddhist temple under the guidance of Lingyin Buddhist masters.
Modern communication devices and entertainment tools were forbidden so that everyone could put aside mundane affairs and focus on the practice of Buddhism. During the activity, theBuddhist disciples learned the Buddhist rituals of dining and worshiping Buddha; attended morning and evening chanting session with dharma masters; transcribed sutras; undertook the eight precepts for laymen; and other traditional temple ceremonial activities for basic monastic life.
