On June 24, 2017, upon gracious invitation, Abbot of Lingyin Temple Ven. Guangquan (Vice Secretary General of The Buddhist Association of China, Vice Chairman of The Buddhist Association of Zhejiang, Chairman of The Buddhist Association of Hangzhou) led a group of over 20 Buddhist masters to Gold Buddha Monastery for a visit and exchange. He gave a themed lecture, “Steadfast to Original Intent for Fulfillment ”.

Ven. Guangquan started with the “original intent” and focused on the meaning of being a Buddhist monk in his speech:Being a Buddhist monk means the physical body at the temple in the mountains; being a Buddhist monk means the mind is away from the worldly pleasure of five desires and personal gains and losses. The meaning of being a Buddhist monk lies in the harmony and integration of the body and mind. A true Buddhist seeks peace and dharma delight in his practice of Buddhism.Ven. Guangquan also emphasized in his speech that Buddhist monks should “have vision, cultivate the Bodhi mind and act with passion and compassion for the benefit of all sentient beings.”

Following Ven. Guangquan’s speech, the hosts and guests exchanged gifts and well wishes before the center altar.
