On October 29, 2017, the third volunteer training course of Lingyin Temple came to a successful conclusion. The three-day training course aimed at fostering volunteers with the spirit of the Bodhisattva, dedication, while enhancing their understanding of Buddhist concepts as well as their own abilities.
The contents of the training course included morning and evening chanting sessions, Buddhist rituals and rites, Buddhist monastery affairs management and Chan meditations. The quality of the volunteers’ understanding of monastic life was improved remarkably after the experience of living int a Buddhist temple where bells are tolled and drums beaten in the morning and evening. Such training courses will be held by Lingyin Temple on a regular basis in the future so as to enhance the comprehensive quality of the staff.
