On the afternoon of May 22, 2018 (the eighth day of the fourth month of the Chinese calendar), all of the newly ordained monks gathered at the Hall of Medicine Buddha of Lingyin Temple amidst bell and ring sounds, awaiting with great Dharma bliss enlightening instructions from the abbot of Lingyin Temple Venerable Master Guangquan, the chief monk in charge of the precept studies Master Fangzhen, the second chief monk Master Changfa and other ritual masters.
Venerable Master Guangquan encouraged all the novice monks to dedicate themselves to the practice of Buddhism, to sincerely believe in the Three Treasures, to uphold the principles of benevolence and kindness, and to adhere to righteous beliefs and righteous deeds. Master Fangzhen and other Buddhist masters all delivered enlightening Dharma talks for the novice monks, in which they expressed congratulations to them on their completion of the ordination and hopes that all newly ordained monks should be always grateful to the Three Treasures, to the general public and to the country.
Afterwards, Venerable Master Guangquan and other ritual masters conferred the precept certificates to the 303 newly ordained monks, who then kowtowed to express their sincere gratitude. This marks a successful close to the 30-day-long Triple Platform Ordination Ceremony.
