On June 10, 2018, Lingyin Temple conducted a training session for the Yunlin Volunteers. Nearly eighty volunteers gathered at the Huayan Hall at 9:00 a.m. and Master Zhizhong from the publicity department oriented them to the significance and aims of the training.

The training session consisted of four parts—(1) the origin and aims of the Yunlin Volunteers; (2) service specifications for different posts of duty, and preparedness plans for possible problems; (3) the origin of Buddhism, and the history and development of Chinese Buddhism; (4) the unique features and architectural style of the time-honored Lingyin Temple, and the stories of the manufacturing of Buddhist statues.

This training session aimed to regulate the volunteers’ performance and behavior, and orient them to the job specifications so that they will be well trained to better serve the general public.
