On December 13, 2018, the signing ceremony of Shangde（尚德） Scholarship for university students in Zhejiang Province was held by Hangzhou Yunlin Charitable Foundation(YLCF) at Lingyin Temple. Distinguished guests in attendance were the Director of the Religious Department of Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Mr. Hu Shengjun, the monastic supervisor of Lingyin Temple Master Zhiguang, the Deputy Executive Director of Hangzhou Yunlin Charitable Foundation Master Shengxian, as well as the representatives from eight universities in Zhejiang, including Zhejiang University, Zhejiang University of Technology, Hangzhou Dianzi University, etc.
At the signing ceremony, the Deputy Executive Director of Hangzhou Yunlin Charitable Foundation Master Shengxian said,“Hangzhou Yunlin Charitable Foundation set up Shangde Scholarship for university students in Zhejiang Province in 2006. In the past two years, a number of students or student bodies have won scholarships for their excellence in studies or other activities. Such a successful experience tells us that it is of great significance to set up a scholarship program for university students to encourage them to uphold moral principles and make contributions to the society. After two years of trial and error, the operations of the scholarship program have been perfected and the number of universities we cooperate with has increased to eight from four. ”Master Shengxian also extended his gratitude towards relevant faculty members of the universities for their efforts in the scholarship evaluation.
This year, Hangzhou Yunlin Charitable Foundation signed contracts to set up Shangde Scholarship with eight universities in Zhejiang, including Zhejiang University, Zhejiang University of Technology, Hangzhou Dianzi University, Zhejiang Sci-tech University, China Jiliang University, Zhejiang A&F University, Zhejiang University of Media and Communications, and Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electronic Power.
