As the Enlightenment Day of Avalokitesvara (Guan Yin Bodhisattva) falls on July 21, 2019 (the 19th day of the sixth month in the Lunar Calendar), Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou held a solemn prayer ceremony at the Mahavira Hall at 4:45 in the early morning to celebrate this important festival of Chinese Buddhism. All Buddhist masters and believers at the event sincerely prayed for the prosperity of the country, vigorous development of Buddhism, permanence of the Dharma, favorable weather and good harvests, and the well-being of the general public.
