Turnip Cake

Chinese turnip (600g), Chinese dried black mushrooms (10g), starch (300g), ginger (appropriate amount), salt (3g), vegetable oil (appropriate amount)


Recipe instructions:

1. Add 400g of water to 300g of starch, and mix to form a batter.  

2. Peel and grate the Chinese turnip, chop the ginger and the rehydrated Chinese black mushrooms into smaller pieces.

3. Heat up the wok and add some oil. Add the chopped ginger and rehydrated Chinese mushrooms, and stir. 

4. Add grated turnip, appropriate amount of water and salt, and stir again. Simmer the turnip for a while until wilted. 

5. Pour the batter into the wok and stir well to evenly distribute all the ingredients.

6. Pour the mixed batter into a container, and steam the mixture. 

7. Remove the turnip cake from the container and turn it out onto a cutting board. Use a knife to slice thick pieces.

8. Add some oil to a non-stick pan and fry the cakes on both sides until golden and crispy.
