Tianchi Temple, situated in Mogan Mountain National Scenic Spot, has a history of over 700 years. According to historical records, Tianchi Temple was founded during the Zhishun Era in the Yuan Dynasty (around 1330-1333). Since its foundation, eminent Buddhist masters, such as Wengxin and Yuzhi, greatly contributed to the vigorous development of the temple. Despite ups and downs in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the temple attracted numerous scholars and literati, who left poems, anecdotes, travel notes and stone inscriptions during their visits, adding to the richness of the profound culture of the temple.

It is firmly believed that after the reconstruction, Tianchi Temple will become an important icon characteristic of the Buddhist culture in the near future, contributing to the sound development of Buddhism in Zhejiang Province.
