2024 Admission Brochure for Hangzhou Buddhist Academy

Hangzhou Buddhist Academy is a comprehensive Buddhist institution approved by the State Administration for Religious Affairs, organized by the Zhejiang Buddhist Association and undertaken by the Hangzhou Buddhist Association. The Academy, formerly known as Hangzhou Wulin Buddhist Academy, was founded in 1946 by Venerable Master Taixu and Venerable Master Juzan. It is a religious institution that primarily focuses on Buddhist theoretical education and features Buddhist art education. The Academy now has three faculties: the Faculty of Buddhist Philosophy, the Faculty of Buddhist Art (Buddhist art major and Buddhist music major), and the Faculty of Foreign Languages (Sanskrit major, Buddhist English major, Buddhist Japanese major). 

To promote the construction of disciplines that meet the needs of the new era, Hangzhou Buddhist Academy has obtained approval from the State Administration for Religious Affairs to establish additional disciplines and specialties, such as the Faculty of Management (Buddhist management major) and the Faculty of Precepts (Buddhist precepts major), based on the existing faculties and majors. Following its research and preparations, the Academy is now enrolling new undergraduates and postgraduates.
