On March 28th, in the auspicious occasion of the 19th day of the second month in the lunar calendar, which marks the birthday of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara (Guan Yin), Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou held a solemn Triple Gem Refuge Ceremony at the Zhizhi Hall and the Abbot Venerable Master Guangquan was invited to conduct the ceremony.
At eight o'clock in the morning, more than four hundred lay Buddhists gathered at the Zhizhi Hall of Lingyin Temple to receive the Three Refuges. The ceremony commenced as the lay Buddhists, led by the host master, sincerely invited Venerable Master Guangquan to preside over the ceremony. Under the guidance of Venerable Master Guangquan, the lay Buddhists earnestly asked for the presence of the Three Jewels of the ten directions and repented deeply for the negative karma accumulated throughout countless lifetimes with a focused and respectful demeanor. Upon the completion of repentance, Venerable Master Guangquan imparted the Three Refuges to the attendees, establishing the foundation of refuge within their hearts, planting the seeds of enlightenment, and igniting the great aspiration for Bodhi. The entire Refuge Ceremony, imbued with solemnity and adherence to the Dharma, proceeded in a pure and dignified manner, evoking a sense of joy and faith in the hearts of the participants.
