The 6th Hangzhou Religious Venue Fire Fighting Skills Competition & the 9th Hangzhou Buddhist Community Fire Fighting Skills Competition was grandly held on June 12th at Hangzhou Buddhist Academy. This event was co-organized by Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, Hangzhou Fire Rescue Detachment, Hangzhou Buddhist Association, Hangzhou West Lake Scenic Area Fire Rescue Brigade and Hangzhou Buddhist Academy. Over 120 participants, including leaders from various levels of ethnic and religious and fire departments, key personnel and safety officers from city-level religious groups and religious venues, and 24 representative teams, took part in the event.
Prior to the competition, a fire safety training session was conducted. During the training, experts from Hangzhou Fire and Rescue Detachment provided comprehensive training on fire safety responsibilities in the religious sector, fire handling methods, emergency evacuation skills, and other aspects of fire safety knowledge and skills.
The fire fighting skills competition consisted of three events: dressing in gear, a 20-meter fire extinguishing drill, and a 45-meter two-nozzle water gun drill. A total of 24 representative teams from various districts, counties, religious organizations, and Buddhist venues participated in the competition. Throughout the contest, each participant demonstrated resilience, courage, and expertise, showcasing their emergency response and teamwork abilities. The competition served as a platform to display the results of routine fire emergency training in the religious community. Following intense competition, the Hangzhou Buddhist Association team won the first prize in this contest.
Simultaneously, the 9th Hangzhou Buddhist Fire Fighting Skills Competition featured ten representative teams from municipal Buddhist venues competing in the "Comprehensive Fire Drill." The competition was exciting, with each team showing full dedication and competitive spirit. After a fierce battle, the Lingyin Temple team secured the first place, while the Faxi Temple team and the Hangzhou Buddhist Academy team took the second place. The Jingci Temple team, Yongfu Temple team, and Linshun Temple team were awarded the third place.
