On the morning of July 10th, the Closing Ceremony of the First Advanced Seminar for Chinese Buddhist Sutra Masters and the Opening Ceremony of the Second Advanced Seminar for Chinese Buddhist Sutra Masters, and the Advanced Seminar for Buddhist English for Sutra Masters took place at Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou. The events were held by the Buddhist Association of China, co-organized by the Buddhist Association of Hangzhou, and co-hosted by the Chinese Buddhist Sutra Exchange Center and Lingyin Temple.
The Abbott of Lingyin Temple Venerable Master Guangquan and more than 90 graduating and new students from over 30 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across the country attended the opening ceremony.
The curriculum of the Second Advanced Seminar for Sutra Masters drew on the experience of the first session and made further adjustments. The courses are divided into compulsory, elective, and practical categories, totaling 960 class hours over eight sessions intended to be completed within three years. The Buddhist English Advanced Seminar follows a similar course plan aimed at providing students with more systematic and comprehensive training. After the opening ceremony, students will complete the first phase of learning in the next 20 days.
