On January 28, 2025, Venerable Master Jingyao, the President of the Chinese Buddhist Association of Taiwan, passed away in Taipei. To express condolences and commemorate Venerable Master Jingyao, a delegation of 11 representatives from the Buddhist Association of China, invited by the Chinese Buddhist Association of Taiwan, visited Taiwan from February 26 to 28, 2025, to participate in the memorial ceremony honoring Venerable Master Jingyao. He was a renowned contemporary Buddhist master dedicated to the inheritance of Han Chinese Buddhism and the promotion of Humanistic Buddhism, tirelessly advancing Buddhist and cultural exchanges across the Taiwan Strait. The Buddhist communities on both sides will uphold Venerable Master Jingyao's wishes, continue to adhere to the Buddhist teachings, benefit all sentient beings, advocate for Humanistic Buddhism, and promote the traditional Chinese culture. Through practical actions, they aim to maintain the continuity of the Buddhist teachings shared across the Strait and strengthen the spiritual bond that connects the bloodlines of people on both sides, contributing wisdom and strength toward achieving integrated development across the Strait.
