Ven.Guangquan Attends Inauguration Ceremony of Hsing Yun Cultural and Educational Public Welfare Foundation

On November 22, 2014, at the invitation of Venerable Master Hsing Yun, the founder of the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Order, Chairman of the Buddhist Association of Hangzhou and Abbot of Lingyin Temple Venerable Master Guangquan attended the inauguration ceremony of Hsing Yun Cultural and Educational Public Welfare Foundation at Dajue Temple in Yixing, Jiangsu. The Vice-chairman of State Administration for Religious Affairs of P.R.C Jiang Jianyong was also present at the ceremony.

The 87-year-old Venerable Master Hsing Yun said excitedly at the ceremony, “The establishment of the foundation provides a platform to give. To give something is to lose something, which, in turn, means to gain something. I take pride in being poor, but I wish my homeland is affluent and prosperous.”

Hsing Yun Cultural and Educational Public Welfare Foundation is a national non-public fundraising foundation registered at the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China with its site in Nanjing, Jiangsu. Offices have been opened in Beijing, Shanghai and Dajue Temple in Yixing, where Venerable Master Hsing Yun became a monk.
