LY Temple Holds Dharma ceremony in Late Morning on New Years Day

China News reported that thirty-five people died with forty-seven injured in a stampede during New Year's celebrations in Shanghai's historic Bund waterfront area. The incident occurred about a half hour before midnight at the popular Chen Yi Square. 
Upon learning the tragic news, Lingyin Masters organized a Dharma ceremony in the late morning on New Years Day with the dedication of merit for the victim, for peace in China, for the people, throughout the land.

Ceremonial chants echoed through the faithful gathered in the Main Hall. Abbot Guangquan addressed the crowd of the solemn ceremony with dharma talks. Along with the transference of merit for the victims, Master Guangquan wished early recovery for the injured, and for the deceased may they rest in peace--with a united spirit, prayers of blessings for the New Year.
