On February 5, 2015, The Most Influential Public-recommended Chinese Buddhist Temples Award of 2014 was held by Ta Kung Pao (Hong Kong), Renmin Zhengxie Bao (Hong Kong) and other related institutions in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong. Over 1000 Buddhist temples from both home and abroad participated in the event, which aims to award Buddhist temples with the highest influence in the areas of culture, public welfare, architecture, education, Chan meditation, international promotion, and social development. Lingyin Temple was awarded “The Most Internationally Influential Chinese Buddhist Temple” for its promotion of Buddhist culture overseas in recent years.
Besides the award ceremony, a prayer ceremony under the theme of “to practice Bodhichitta and to build China’s dream together” was organized for Buddhists of Han Chinese language Buddhism, Tibetan language Buddhism and Pali Language Buddhism to pray for a harmonious Hong Kong.
