On April 25, a magnitude-8.1 earthquake struck Nepal. A large number of buildings collapsed and roads were blocked off in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital and largest city. According to CCTV reports, the death toll now has risen to 2,789 and aftershocks continue to occur. The situation in Nepal is not optimistic. The international community is responding to the earthquake disaster by carrying out rescue operations urgently.
On the morning of April 27, the Lingyin Sangha gathered at the Mahavira Hall to hold a prayer ceremony for the disaster areas of the earthquake. Hosted by Monastery Supervisor Master Yiguang, the prayer ceremony gathered the Lingyin Sangha as well as Buddhist believers from across the country. They dedicated the ceremony and blessing for the victims of the earthquake to rest in peace and for the survivors to be strong, to overcome difficulties and rebuild their homelands.
