Ven.Guangquan Addresses Inaugural Ceremony forBuddhist Association of Jianggan District

On June 6, 2015, the inaugural ceremony for establishment of the Buddhist Association of Jianggan District, Hangzhou was held in Longju Temple with Master Nianyong elected as its first chairman. With large crowd of Buddhist disciples from Jianggan District, special attendees included officials from the Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs of Hangzhou, the district council of Jianggan District, the CPC Jianggan District Committee and other affiliated departments. Ven. Guangquan, Chairman of the Buddhist Association of Hangzhou, addressed the crowd during the ceremony with kind greetings and four wishes for the Buddhist Association of Jianggan District. The first is to strengthen the awareness for codes of conduct, and manage the association by integrity; the second is to broaden the organizational capacity of the association to fully apply its role in exchange and communication; the third is to optimize systems and regulations to deal with affairs of the association in an orderly manner; the fourth is to persist in cultivating talents for the association to flourish.

The Buddhist Association of Jianggan District is the third Buddhist organization at the district level in Hangzhou, following the Buddhist Associations of Xihu District and Binjiang District. Its establishment marks the orderly and prolific development of Buddhism in the northeastern part of Hangzhou.
